Call for Submissions for Boneyard 2.4 - Two Weeks Out!

Issue 2.4 of the Boneyard Blog Carnival, to be hosted by David Bressan at The History of Geology, is scheduled to be posted on the first Tuesday of December, which is the 7th. If you've blogged about paleontology, please consider submitting one of your posts, whether it's recent or from the distant past. The dealine for submissions is midnight on Monday, December 6, 2010.

Preferred method of submission is to email the URL of your post(s) to boneyardblogcarnival(at)gmail(dot)com, though we won't turn away submissions left in the comments of this post. But it's just as easy to email, so... just do that, eh?

If you would like to help spread the word about the carnival, please feel free to post our new badge, available for download at Flickr.

Bring 'em on!

New badge!

Well, I've finally made the badge I've been trying to wrap up for two months. Feel free to grab it from Flickr and post it far and wide.

The Boneyard Blog Carnival

It's loosely based on an old french matchbook package from the Agence Eureka photostream. I chose a trilobite as the central icon because I've noticed that some folks assume that the Boneyard is focused on dinosaur paleontology - probably because of my blog - and I wanted to demonstrate that all flavors of paleontology are welcome.

Heads Up! New Email Address for Submissions

Because I'm a dingus, I chose an easily misspelled address for my blog and email address.* To make it easier for folks to submit to the Boneyard, I've set up a new address dedicated to it:

boneyardblogcarnival(at)gmail(dot)com

I wish it could have been simply "boneyard," but that's been grabbed already. Thanks again to all submitters to 2.3, and please let me know if your submission was lost because it went to the wrong place. Just email it to the correct address, which is the one before this paragraph with all of the big, bold letters. That's the one.

*It's "chasmosaurs," which prompts people to make the totally understandable mistake of adding a "u" to make it "chasmosaurus." If I knew then what I know now!

Boneyard Blog Carnival 2.3 is here!

Boneyard 2.3 is now up over at Ian Garofalo's blog, Other Branch. Head on over to read some great paleo-blogging. Thanks to Ian for doing a great job with 2.3. I hope he sees a nice bump in traffic. Thanks also to all of the submitters, who all brought their A-games.

I know I've been promising a badge forever. I almost had it done... then I had a much better idea, which is now in progress. I'll post it here as soon as it's done!

2.3 On Its Way

Just a quick message to let you know that Boneyard 2.3 has been a bit delayed, but is on its way. It should be up sometime today at Other Branch. As soon as it's up, I'll post a note about it!
